Charlotte Mothers of Multiples has so many amazing and dedicated volunteers but each year we ask our members to tell us who they think has gone the extra mile and deserves to be recognized as our CMOM of the Year! Here are our past award winners and what was said about their contributions to our organization at the time of their award:
Sonya is the proud mommy to two beautiful girls, Jasmine and Jossilyn. If you know Sonya, you know she is very passionate about CMOMs. She continually puts her heart and soul into making this club thrive and grow. She has served in MANY positions, on both the Full and Executive Boards, including being a past President. Even during some hard times that our club has endured, Sonya’s dedication and professionalism has shone through as she helped our club bounce back 100%. I’ve personally worked so closely with her over the last year and a half while starting my reign as President. And every day, I ask myself how Sonya got it all done! I knew I had big shoes to fill when I took over this position, and I’m so lucky that she currently serves as our CMOMs Advisor - as she is always there for me to go to for advice, help, or a listening ear. Sonya thoroughly deserves the title of CMOM of the Year! Congratulations Sonya!
Along with being wife and mom of 3 boys, she currently serves tirelessly on the Executive Board as the VP of Events and Programs. Prior to this role, Tracey served as the VP of Community Outreach and a District Leader for D1. In addition, she co-owns and runs the Sail Again Consignment Sale. Having served with her for 3 years on the Executive Board, I have witnessed just how deeply passionate Tracey is about CMOMs. This passion is what drives her to work so hard for CMOMs and our members. Even after 5 years in the club, Tracey remains an active member of her district, bonding not only with her close CMOM friends, but also providing montoring and support for our new moms as well. Tracey is selfless, passionate and caring and I am proud to say that she is both a CMOM and a friend. Congratulations Tracey, and thank you for all of your hard work and dedication!
Along with being wife and mom of 4 children she is a travel agent and works for the Charlotte Observer plus she serves as the VP of Marketing for CMOMs. It's hard to imagine that she has any spare time but not only is Paula an amazing marketing person but she is also very active in her district. She is a wonderful friend offering words of support and a shoulder to lean on plus she is always helping fellow CMOMs learn to save money by offering coupon classes. It has been an honor to serve with Paul on the executive board. Congratulations Paula and thank you for all of your hard work and dedication!
Talitha is a true team player who puts the needs of the organization first, always has smile, and always gives 100%. Her programs and efforts have helped shape our organization into the mammoth that it is today, supporting over 600 members in the greater Charlotte area. Talitha has served on the executive board in various capacities for several years and her contributions are marked by our sponsorships she secured during her time as the VP of Marketing, the fundraising programs she instituted during her time as the VP of Fund Development and most recently during her relationships with area Hospitals and businesses during her time as VP of Events and Programs. The financial impact of Talitha's efforts is HUGE, both for our club as a whole, and for individual members. Her programs earned 20% of our operating income in 2008-09, thus allowing CMOMs to fund member programs such as Nursing Support, Holiday Families, Member Assistance, Post-Partum Depression Support, Family and Adult Social Events, etc. Without these new sources of revenue that Talitha launched, CMOMs' member offerings would not be as robust.
